- My one-minute manifesto as your Labour PCC candidate.
My name is Gareth Derrick and I am standing as the Labour Party candidate for Devon and Cornwall’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
This is a demanding role, but my aim is simple – working together with you to keep our communities safe.
Securing proper funding for our Police, and protecting our future by making every penny count.
Restoring effective local policing. Modernising the police to bring the skills needed for tomorrow’s crime, with new technology to put more effort at the front-line. Domestic abuse, violence, child exploitation and internet crime are some of my biggest concerns. The vulnerable in society must be kept safe, and victims must be given the care and support that they need. We must also protect our vital business sector and tourist trade.
It is crucial that Policing is truly connected with our communities. I will work to reinforce trust and confidence between the police, the public and the many organisations that deliver public safety, wherever you live in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Join me in this plan. Vote Labour on May 5th.
